Mr. Mark!

We went over the other night to Reese's Sunday school teacher's house to bring them a "sweet treat" as our kids call it. Mr. Mark and his wife had a baby about a month ago and Reese has really missed his teacher. Reese helped me make them a cheesecake and just loved playing at his house...I love that Reese has really taken to Mr. Mark....we have had alot of changes in our lives lately it's nice seeing him feel comfortable with someone at our new church!

Little Legends Reading Time

Friday we went to the Ballpark in Arlington (Rangers) to go to their reading time. They read a book then do a craft...they kids thought it was so cool to get to go in the ballpark when no one was there! After the craft they bring the kids outside to have lunch on homerun porch and the kids got to play on the little field. In the picture you can see they did sack races which was pretty funny the were all falling all over each other! Reese was not so into the getting into the bag idea but he tried it...then jumped right out! They have this reading time every month and the kids have already asked when they get to go again...looks like it was a hit! (no pun intented:)

Nascar Practice Run!

Poppa took Abby and Charlie to see the racecars practice run around the track...Abby told me it was pretty loud and when I asked her if she had fun she said yes but she really liked the skittles and lemonade Poppa got her more! I hear Charlie liked the cars more than Abby I guess that's good...I don't know many girls that into Nascar! I am glad she got to experience it though....everyone needs to see it at least once!

Good Times at the Zoo!

Yesturday we went to the zoo and seriously I think we saw EVERY animal...well except the hippos and believe me Reese wasn't happy about that! (he loves hippos and was quite disappointed when all we could find were rhinos) We also went on a train ride and got to see flaimgos way close up....I mean so close you could reach out and get bit by one! ...luckily that didn't happen but Abby got pretty close! I also love the picture of Abby looking at the otter through the circle window...Reese got in there too and he got really freaked out when they came swimming by! I think we are really gonna love our zoo membership we went pretty much every week in DC and the kids love it! Maybe next week we will find the hippos???

Bye Bye Training Wheels?

Last night Abby decided it was time to take her training wheels off. Honestly we were not sure if she was ready but we thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. She tried really hard and went about 3-4 houses down the sidewalk but in the end she decided it would be alright to put them back on for awhile. I think she will be ready soon but maybe not just yet.... she likes her independence too much to wait on us to walk her down the street:)

Bubble Head!

I thought this was too cute not to share! He thought it was pretty funny but wasn't sure what he looked like so I took a picture so he could see. He laughed pretty hard but soon after he was ready to get it off his head...he's never been much for hats!

Rangers Season Finally Starts!

Sunday night we had tickets to take the kids (and Greg) to the Rangers and it was another super cold night! Reese has seriously been counting down the days till the game....when he woke-up from nap his first words were, "can I go to the ballpark?" and for the first time I could say YES! We were so excited to finally go to the game because kids don't seem to understand "when the season starts!" Anyways I did a brilliant thing before the game, see we bought the tickets months ago and Greg asked me to hold the tickets....first this wasn't smart on his part but anyways you can imagine what happened right? well NO I didn't lose them I just forgot to bring my purse so we were already at the park and we didn't have tickets. We ended up buying more since we live pretty far from the park...sorry Greg:)
Well besides that minor mishap everything was swell Abby and Greg even got on ESPN they taped Abby walking down the stairs with her popcorn. She says she's a movie star now:)
Well this was our first game like I mentioned earlier but this for sure will be one of many....one season we went to 3 in ONE week and did I mention it was hot and I was super prego??? (just thought I would throw that in so you would think I was the coolest wife ever!!!) right greg??

Race for the Cure

Saturday morning some friends and I ran in a 5K as you can see it was super cold....like snowing cold! Luckily it didn't snow till right after we got done running but believe me it might as well of snowed it was crazy cold! I honestly woke-up that morning (very early) and was thinking what in the world am I doing?.... I could go run in the warm gym on a treadmill! But it was for a good cause and of course after you run for awhile you get warmed up pretty fast! I have talked my sister-in-law (on the right) into running in 10K with me in 2 weeks so hopefully we will have wonderful weather....but you never know with this crazy weather we have been having....we could have 3 inches of snow:)

Granny and PaPa's Package!

Yesturday the kids got an Easter package in the mail from Ganny and PaPa and they couldn't wait to open it! They both got a new video and in the picture you can see Reese got some new trains and this picture does his excitement justice! Abby got the new Veggie Tales DVD and she has been wanting it for sooooo long (as she says) and she wanted to watch it right then! They both can't wait to see Granny and PaPa again and thank them in person for all the fun stuff...thanks guys!
...and mom, dad that sticky egg thing you guys sent...well it was a hit with the kids but it is super nasty now because they keep dropping it on the floor...yuck! ....Thanks for that:)

Easter Garden

We all met Maw Maw and Poppa at a nearby prayer garden to hear the story of Easter. They loved Maw Maw's story (even though it was stinking cold:) and they learned all about sin and what Jesus did for them. Our nephew Charlie was hilarious he kept asking everyone what their sins were...it was so sweet and innocent. Abby had a confession time:) she told everyone she lied about pushing her brother....then she looked at me with a sheepish grin! Oh the things we learn during public confession times!
After the story the kids got to go and find the empty tomb in the garden which they really loved! The kids kept saying, "I could move that rock!" or "Where did he go?" I love watching them learn this resurrection story, a story I have heard all my life but for some reason watching your kids learn brings a whole new depth!

Easter Eggs!

The kids did a great job dyeing their Easter eggs yesturday and I think this was the most artistic year yet! At first all they wanted to do was dump the eggs in the colors but as Abby started to see she could be a bit more creative she was super into it:) that's my girl...
Before we started I wrote some secret messages on the eggs (white crayon) and Reese kept picking those eggs....at first he thought it was cool but after awhile he started to cry...too funny...I guess he didn't want mommy messing with his eggs!
I have been noticing lately how big the kids are getting and how much more fun it is to celecbrate hoilday's. They really seem to enjoy all the traditions Greg and I are trying to start and it is so exciting to know that each year it will just gets better! We both can't imagine life without these guys...life is so much more full and FUN! I highly suggest having kids...you will never be the same!
...oh by the way in the picture of Reese he is holding up his egg that says, "He's Alive!" if you ask my kids what happens on Easter this is what they will yell at the top of their lungs! ...I wish we all got that excited about Jesus and what He did for us on the cross!

Picnic with Friends!

The other day we had some friends over for a picnic after we went to Pump it Up to junp on all the inflatables! It was a gorgeous day for it and the kids even sat down for lunch...for a few minutes:) Abby was so excited to have her "girlfriends" over as she calls them. It was the first time her friend Peighton came over and she told me later she couldn't believe that she was REALLY over playing at HER house! I am so excited to see Abby and Reese making friends and it has been a really smooth tranistion for all of us...thanks for the prayers!

First T-Ball Game!

ok I have had a really hard time picking which pictures to put on here so I think because they only let me put 5 at a time I will have to do 2 posts to do this game justice! Tonight at 6:00 Abby had her very first T-ball game and she did so great! She hit the ball every time she went to bat and she husstled to the ball like a champ! It was super funny watching this game though..imagine a bunch of 3-5 year olds running all over the field for the same ball, running to the wrong base, putting their gloves on their heads, and that's just to name a few! It was so fun to watch her and she really seemed to like it alot! All day she was putting on her uniform and talking about the game so I think she is really enjoying playing the game...well as much as they "play" at this age:) I must say I am sure I have never seen a more adorable little "baseball" girl in my whole life!

Second Round...

ok so here are the last few pictures that you just had to see! The first picture is of Abby on second base dancing. One of the most used phrases of the night was, "pay attention kids!" I think every parent and coach said it about 50 times:) The next picture if of Abby scoring a run...man was she proud she was running so fast it was great! Next Abby is playing... well I am not sure what position she is playing but it is right before she made a play at first base. Last is quite obvious but we just had to get a picture with our precious baseball star...notice Reese eating Abby's snack...he's so supportive!

New Bike!

Last week Greg took our bikes into the shop to get a little "tune-up" well my tune-up turned into being more expensive then my bike costs! So Greg decided (without me) to go ahead a donate the bike to bikes-for-tots or something like that:) anyways I really didn't mind expect for the fact that the kids love to go for rides and I wouldn't be able to go with them....so today Greg brought a bike home for me. It's a really good bike and I guess I didn't realize how "tired" my college bike had gotten:) So all goes to say now we are back in business....hopefully we will get back to riding as often as possible and I know now that my bike won't break along the way (I blogged before about how I had to walk my bike about 1 mile or so because it was jammed) so I am sure glad I won't have to do that again! Thanks Greg!

Thomas the Train

Yesturday morning Greg's parents took all the grandkids to ride on Thomas the Train. They have been waiting for this day for about 2 months so they were sure ready to get on that train! Greg asked Reese the night before if he was ready to see Thomas and he did a little happy dance and said he was ready to get in Thomas's belly (I guess to a two-year old that makes sense huh?) After the ride we had lunch then got to watch the Bob the Builder show...the kids were a little scared of him at first but they liked it anyways:) Well I know for sure the kids think it was worth the wait....and Greg and I want to meet the guy who thought up sticking a Thomas on the front of some train because the people came out of the woodworks to ride...brilliant!

Princess on Ice

Tonight we went to Princess on Ice with Abby's friend Emmarie and her Mommy Kirsten. Abby was so excited all day that she couldn't nap and kept asking when we were leaving! We got there about a hour early (not on purpose) but because we were so early this guy that worked for the Disney on Ice came up to us and asked the girls if they wanted to help out during the show. At first they seemed a bit hesitant but as soon as he said that the Little Mermaid needed help they were sold! About 30 minutes into the show we went down on the ice and the girls got into a boat that got pushed all over the ice! It was so exciting (even for me) I just kept thinking about when I was little and how this really would have been the highlight of my whole life! When she and Emmarie got off that boat it was super precious they looked like they were floating and had just stepped out of a dream...they are so lucky:)
