Rangers Season Finally Starts!

Sunday night we had tickets to take the kids (and Greg) to the Rangers and it was another super cold night! Reese has seriously been counting down the days till the game....when he woke-up from nap his first words were, "can I go to the ballpark?" and for the first time I could say YES! We were so excited to finally go to the game because kids don't seem to understand "when the season starts!" Anyways I did a brilliant thing before the game, see we bought the tickets months ago and Greg asked me to hold the tickets....first this wasn't smart on his part but anyways you can imagine what happened right? well NO I didn't lose them I just forgot to bring my purse so we were already at the park and we didn't have tickets. We ended up buying more since we live pretty far from the park...sorry Greg:)
Well besides that minor mishap everything was swell Abby and Greg even got on ESPN they taped Abby walking down the stairs with her popcorn. She says she's a movie star now:)
Well this was our first game like I mentioned earlier but this for sure will be one of many....one season we went to 3 in ONE week and did I mention it was hot and I was super prego??? (just thought I would throw that in so you would think I was the coolest wife ever!!!) right greg??

Race for the Cure

Saturday morning some friends and I ran in a 5K as you can see it was super cold....like snowing cold! Luckily it didn't snow till right after we got done running but believe me it might as well of snowed it was crazy cold! I honestly woke-up that morning (very early) and was thinking what in the world am I doing?.... I could go run in the warm gym on a treadmill! But it was for a good cause and of course after you run for awhile you get warmed up pretty fast! I have talked my sister-in-law (on the right) into running in 10K with me in 2 weeks so hopefully we will have wonderful weather....but you never know with this crazy weather we have been having....we could have 3 inches of snow:)

Granny and PaPa's Package!

Yesturday the kids got an Easter package in the mail from Ganny and PaPa and they couldn't wait to open it! They both got a new video and in the picture you can see Reese got some new trains and this picture does his excitement justice! Abby got the new Veggie Tales DVD and she has been wanting it for sooooo long (as she says) and she wanted to watch it right then! They both can't wait to see Granny and PaPa again and thank them in person for all the fun stuff...thanks guys!
...and mom, dad that sticky egg thing you guys sent...well it was a hit with the kids but it is super nasty now because they keep dropping it on the floor...yuck! ....Thanks for that:)

Easter Garden

We all met Maw Maw and Poppa at a nearby prayer garden to hear the story of Easter. They loved Maw Maw's story (even though it was stinking cold:) and they learned all about sin and what Jesus did for them. Our nephew Charlie was hilarious he kept asking everyone what their sins were...it was so sweet and innocent. Abby had a confession time:) she told everyone she lied about pushing her brother....then she looked at me with a sheepish grin! Oh the things we learn during public confession times!
After the story the kids got to go and find the empty tomb in the garden which they really loved! The kids kept saying, "I could move that rock!" or "Where did he go?" I love watching them learn this resurrection story, a story I have heard all my life but for some reason watching your kids learn brings a whole new depth!

Easter Eggs!

The kids did a great job dyeing their Easter eggs yesturday and I think this was the most artistic year yet! At first all they wanted to do was dump the eggs in the colors but as Abby started to see she could be a bit more creative she was super into it:) that's my girl...
Before we started I wrote some secret messages on the eggs (white crayon) and Reese kept picking those eggs....at first he thought it was cool but after awhile he started to cry...too funny...I guess he didn't want mommy messing with his eggs!
I have been noticing lately how big the kids are getting and how much more fun it is to celecbrate hoilday's. They really seem to enjoy all the traditions Greg and I are trying to start and it is so exciting to know that each year it will just gets better! We both can't imagine life without these guys...life is so much more full and FUN! I highly suggest having kids...you will never be the same!
...oh by the way in the picture of Reese he is holding up his egg that says, "He's Alive!" if you ask my kids what happens on Easter this is what they will yell at the top of their lungs! ...I wish we all got that excited about Jesus and what He did for us on the cross!

Picnic with Friends!

The other day we had some friends over for a picnic after we went to Pump it Up to junp on all the inflatables! It was a gorgeous day for it and the kids even sat down for lunch...for a few minutes:) Abby was so excited to have her "girlfriends" over as she calls them. It was the first time her friend Peighton came over and she told me later she couldn't believe that she was REALLY over playing at HER house! I am so excited to see Abby and Reese making friends and it has been a really smooth tranistion for all of us...thanks for the prayers!

First T-Ball Game!

ok I have had a really hard time picking which pictures to put on here so I think because they only let me put 5 at a time I will have to do 2 posts to do this game justice! Tonight at 6:00 Abby had her very first T-ball game and she did so great! She hit the ball every time she went to bat and she husstled to the ball like a champ! It was super funny watching this game though..imagine a bunch of 3-5 year olds running all over the field for the same ball, running to the wrong base, putting their gloves on their heads, and that's just to name a few! It was so fun to watch her and she really seemed to like it alot! All day she was putting on her uniform and talking about the game so I think she is really enjoying playing the game...well as much as they "play" at this age:) I must say I am sure I have never seen a more adorable little "baseball" girl in my whole life!

Second Round...

ok so here are the last few pictures that you just had to see! The first picture is of Abby on second base dancing. One of the most used phrases of the night was, "pay attention kids!" I think every parent and coach said it about 50 times:) The next picture if of Abby scoring a run...man was she proud she was running so fast it was great! Next Abby is playing... well I am not sure what position she is playing but it is right before she made a play at first base. Last is quite obvious but we just had to get a picture with our precious baseball star...notice Reese eating Abby's snack...he's so supportive!

New Bike!

Last week Greg took our bikes into the shop to get a little "tune-up" well my tune-up turned into being more expensive then my bike costs! So Greg decided (without me) to go ahead a donate the bike to bikes-for-tots or something like that:) anyways I really didn't mind expect for the fact that the kids love to go for rides and I wouldn't be able to go with them....so today Greg brought a bike home for me. It's a really good bike and I guess I didn't realize how "tired" my college bike had gotten:) So all goes to say now we are back in business....hopefully we will get back to riding as often as possible and I know now that my bike won't break along the way (I blogged before about how I had to walk my bike about 1 mile or so because it was jammed) so I am sure glad I won't have to do that again! Thanks Greg!

Thomas the Train

Yesturday morning Greg's parents took all the grandkids to ride on Thomas the Train. They have been waiting for this day for about 2 months so they were sure ready to get on that train! Greg asked Reese the night before if he was ready to see Thomas and he did a little happy dance and said he was ready to get in Thomas's belly (I guess to a two-year old that makes sense huh?) After the ride we had lunch then got to watch the Bob the Builder show...the kids were a little scared of him at first but they liked it anyways:) Well I know for sure the kids think it was worth the wait....and Greg and I want to meet the guy who thought up sticking a Thomas on the front of some train because the people came out of the woodworks to ride...brilliant!

Princess on Ice

Tonight we went to Princess on Ice with Abby's friend Emmarie and her Mommy Kirsten. Abby was so excited all day that she couldn't nap and kept asking when we were leaving! We got there about a hour early (not on purpose) but because we were so early this guy that worked for the Disney on Ice came up to us and asked the girls if they wanted to help out during the show. At first they seemed a bit hesitant but as soon as he said that the Little Mermaid needed help they were sold! About 30 minutes into the show we went down on the ice and the girls got into a boat that got pushed all over the ice! It was so exciting (even for me) I just kept thinking about when I was little and how this really would have been the highlight of my whole life! When she and Emmarie got off that boat it was super precious they looked like they were floating and had just stepped out of a dream...they are so lucky:)

Library Time

Every Thursday we go to the Hurst Library for toddler reading time and the kids make sure I don't forget! They love to sit and listen to the lady read the books well Abby does Reese has a small wiggling problem, but he is getting better. In the picture you can see him sitting on Abby's lap which surprisingly he does very well there...too cute! The lady sings songs on her (out of tune) guitar:) (sorry I tend to notice more than others since I play)...anyways she also blows bubbles at the end and you would think I just told them they were going to Disneyland....oh the things kids get excited about! Greg and I were laughing about the whole bubble thing the other day....all they do is get you sticky and wet all down your arm! Gosh, we would be terrible toddlers....was I this way as a kid mom?....no really I am kidding I do notice how cynical I am being. It's all for fun our kids do have fun (and get dirty) from time to time!
Oh that makes me think of another thing- when Abby was born my sister said, "you are gonna freak out when she gets dirty....how are you gonna do it?" ...and what's so funny about that comment is that every now and again I wonder the exact same thing! I have also taken the first step in realizing I do have a OCD problem...Dr.Phil would be so proud!

Who's the best babysitter in the world????

apparently Uncle Doug! Tonight Anglea (my sister-in-law) and I went to a consignment sale and Greg went to a hockey game with his dad so the kids stayed with their Uncle while we shopped.
Anyways when Anglea and I got home this is what we were greeted with! Yes oh Yes they are COVERED in mud/sand. In Doug and Anglea's backyard they have this sandbox but it has rained alot lately so it was more of a mud pit. Doug said it started off pretty innocent but it ended up being a tackle party... so Doug stripped them down! The kids were so excited they could hardly contain themselves....sadly Greg and I are fairly clean people and try to keep the kids that way too so they were super excited to get dirty! One of the funniest parts of the evening was when we had to walk home (we live down the street from them) and the some of the neighbors got to see the kids riding their bikes home this way! Then of course it was craziness cleaning them up without Greg's help...imagine me trying to keep Reese from running all over the house while I showered Abby and then the best part was the clean-up after I got them to bed....the bathroom seriously had mud on the walls....and of course Reese decided this would be a super time to poop his pants so it added to the fun....I was holding him down trying to change his diaper while getting mud all over me....eek!! Luckily both kids are in bed now and the house looks like nothing happend....oh if the walls could talk!

New Pants!

Greg took Abby tonight to go get her T-ball pants because her first game is this weekend! Before bed we were playing baseball in the living room (yes we play ball in the house:) and Abby ran and got on her new pants (she put them on backwards...still working on that dressing yourself stuff).... anyways she looks a bit like a little boy but for our little tomboy we couldn't be prouder!

That's not your bike!

It was rainning all day and the poor kids had to play in the dirty garage:) Here Reese is riding Abby's bike and I was shocked! I guess since Reese is the youngest I tend to always see him as the baby but he proves me wrong all the time! It looks like he is ready for his own bike...who knew?

"Read to us Daddy!"

I thought this was a super picture of the kids reading their bedtime story....notice Reese with those shoes on....he is a nut he just had to wear those while we played baseball...Greg thinks that Reese thinks his Mater PJ's are a baseball uniform...and you know with Reese you never know he has a creative imagination sometimes!
Greg put the game on tonight and Reese spent about 10 minutes running around the house looking for his baseball and as soon as he found it he ran to the TV and held it up to the screen....he already knows half the players names and can tell you who is injured and what happened that day during spring training (thanks to daddy...he tucks him in every night and gives him the update of everything baseball)......Greg's in heaven!

WiffleBall Champions!

Tonight we played in a WiffleBall Tournament with some friends from church....and our team won! We played single elimination and ended up playing 4 games pretty much back to back but we still held strong! ( we even won against the youth...now that's victory...especially because most of our team was in their 30's!)
The last game we were down by one and our friend Jill went up to bat with 2 outs and she got a base hit and advanced the runners. My mother-in-law got the final at-bat and drove in the winning run AMAZING....those wiffle balls are pretty tough to catch and this time it was to our advantage....GO BLUE TEAM:) (I am just a bit competitive can you tell??) anyways....
Here is the bobblehead trophy we won. I just had to show off ...it took alot to win this thing....the whole team sacrificed ...and some of us even went home with battle wounds (thanks for taking one for the team Jeremy:) Until next year.....we will be ready!

Wow!

Yes I really am as good as I look!....only kidding! ....I thought this was a pretty good picture even though I got out:)...what you don't see is the ball I photo shopped out of the picture...the one that I missed!

The Lady Bug Tree!

Today I was inside making lunch while the kids were outside playing in the backyard and Abby comes running in saying, "Mommy, come see the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!" (I have no idea where she learned such drama:) anyways I just had to see this most beautiful thing so I go with her and she takes me to a tree in the corner of the yard and there are seriously about 50 ladybugs crawling all over! It was amazing and Abby and Reese spent the rest of the day catching them....and I'm sure they scared these little guys to death..since Reese kept squeezing them!
It is really fun watching the kids enjoy nature....the other day Reese walking outside and said, "oh my mommy what a beautiful day!" and Abby said, "thanks God!" ...I love that even at their young age they see it's created by Him for us!

Tea Party Dress-up!

We had a tea party at Maw Maw's today with Aunt Annie, Charlie and Landry. The kids all dressed-up (even the boys)...they were cowboys! Abby got to put make-up on and the boys got to "shave" their faces...don't worry we used plastic knives! I thought all of you would like to see how pretty we looked:) Reese was a baseball player/cowboy and Abby was a princess (of course) The kids had lots of tea and really enjoyed themselves....I am not sure how much food they actually ate since they kept asking for more tea but at least they had fun!
